Critique and advice would be appreciated

[:1]Really new to the entire mage thing here so I would appreciate any pointers or advice that is out there from the mage community.

I have read EJ and got the most of it I could understand. I have talked to people in game about some things as well. Im not too sure what my numbers need to be in what stat, what caps I need to hit or if one piece of gear is absolutely better than another.

I am upgrading my boots, gloves and necklace to 359 rep ones. My first Valor piece will be the chest piece this week. I just started doing heroics the past 2 weeks, no raiding, (kinda just a Heroic player anyhow I guess) and pull 15k DPS (overall data from start to finish of the instance).

So again, any input would be cool.
There's a few issues with your itemization that can be easily corrected. First and foremost, spirit is a completely worthless stat to go for, and you should get the int/stam enchant for your leggings. Your neck item can be fairly easily replaced with an exalted reputation item from Twilight Highlands, doing all of the quests there and grinding the dailies for a week should be sufficient. It's probably the easiest/fastest reputation to gain, and the neck item is great. I haven't checked Rawr / EJ for your cloak, but I can almost guarantee any 346 ilevel heroic drop would be better than the spirit one you have currently. Also as you are a tailor, you should put Lightweave Embroidery on your cloak once you have the skill level to do so.

I have little experience this expansion with Arcane, so anyone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong... 2 points into Shatter in the Frost tree seems rather worthless? It seems to me they'd be better spent in Incanter's Absorption.

Hit rating for raids is 17%, or 1742 total hit rating. There are no talents / buffs that increase this, although as you are a Dranei you only need 16% due to you racial.

Edit: Also saw that you received Biting Wind main hand yesterday, pair that with Hermit's Lamp from Justice points and it's a better weapon combo than the staff you have currently.

Will redo the legs in a minute. Working the TH rep right now for the neck that comes from them, hoping this coming week. Now that I am aware of the spirit thing I will work on some changes with Spirit stuff I have on.

Didn't even think of Lightweave, will go hit that up in a minute too.
