Is that a wrong assumption? Generally if two or more of my teammates are fighting a single player I'll pass by but for 1v1 I'd help to get it over with. I don't much keep track of killing blows although I know some people do, so my intention isn't to steal it.
What do you think?
Stop and fight only if there is a strategic advantage
Bypass if not
I'm definitely with you in the 2v1 type situations. Keep on moving. I REALLLLLLLY hate it when like all other 9 horde players stop to fight 2 ally while the efc is slow-crawling by unabated. (Or when they continually allow themselves to get camped at the bottom of our gy, but I digress!)
As far as 1v1's, generally if they're getting WTFPWN'D, I'll help out. If not, I mind my own. I enjoy my 1v1 fights, but could care less if someone trotted by and took my killing blow. I just like to win. Now, if you continually are ice lancing someone's KB's, then I could see where they would get pissed off.
My BG etiquette? Help my team mates. I'd like to think that like irl, treat others the way you'd like to be treated! I don't mind the "You stole my KB" QQ. Chances are, they're only there to fight, and not fight and win the objective.
I could care less about KB's....I'd rather win the game. Last time I checked they don't hand out gear based on KB's.
heheh Thanks for the input guys. Guess I'll just be more selective before barging in.
I kill them all,big or small. There is no benefit to having a 1vs1 mentality in a BG. If I am fighting and a teamate bypasses me im going to be pissed for sure. Kill them quick and move on to the next fight.
The only time i've seen people complain is when a person is twinked out and going for the wrecking ball achievement in WSG by holding the flag and GY camping. And when that happens I'm more than happy to kill steal from them because I want the BG to end fast adn victorious and if some jerk wants to prolong it for a personal achievememnt i"m willing to stay the full 25 mins to make sure he doesn't.
Edit: they also may be going for other PVP achievments like score X killing blows at each node in a BG, etc.
Generally I don't see people get pissy about "kb stealing", mostly because people know KB's don't mean squat in the long haul.
Strength in numbers means you get numbers advantages and carry on.
I stop and help unless like everyone else has already stopped and it's 9v1 or something. I've never heard someone yell about kill stealing. =/
At the very least, I'll drop off a living bomb on a target than an ally is fighting with. I find it more common that people thank me for the assist than the other way around.
In BGs, I focus on specific strategies. If I'm going to go cap a tower or go defend the flag, that's all I'm doing unless I get stopped on my way there. If my sole purpose is to stand in the middle of WSG, fight people, and stop the opposing FC then I will fight. So usually, I'll just mount past people and continue forward... if you don't, you'll never win.
But.. when you do fight, kill as soon as you can.. there's no "oh you stole my killing blow" yeah I'm going to smack you for saying that.
I do whatever I need to do that gives us the best chance of winning the BG. I couldn't care less about my KBs, your KBs, his KBs, etc. If that means I pass a guy getting double teamed, so be it. That means there is some other objective that they have left unguarded because two of them are jumping people on the road.
I had a question to throw out to find out the general feelings of the group on the matter. I've been in battlegrounds and had people complain when you help them, accusing you of killblow stealing and I've also seen people complain because someone goes past and doesn't help. My feeling was always that the quicker a fight is over the quicker you and your teammate can move on to other objectives.

There is no such thing as "kill stealing" in a team game. Anyone who complains about it is a moron.
