Dalaran Brilliance is not pointless

It works on pets. Thats why people get it.
my clockwork gnome thanks you.
I'm sure this will be fixed now that you have posted it.

arcane missiles

ok is anyone else that is fire or frost spec having trouble with the arcane missiles activating?? or is there a certain way for it to work? I sent a ticket to blizzard a month or so ago and they said they were working on the problem but I figured it'd been fixed by now.
I looked at your talents: Both of your specs have the talents which remove Arcane Missiles from activating. The Fire one is Hot Streak! Which gives you free insta Pyroblast, and there is a Frost one as well which gives you free Fireball/Frostfire Bolt.

So, your talents are removing your arcane missiles.

WTT improved CoC and shatter barrier

would it be a fair trade to give up the root effect of improved CoC and shatter barrier for winters chill and r1 frostbolt back?
Meh. Give up Shattered Barrier for Winter's Chill. But I prefer Imp CoC over R1 FB.

Also, I don't enjoy you having the same hairstyle as me. >:(
Please don't remove imp CoC... its not just frost mages who use it.

I'd honestly like to see Ice Barrier be re-worked entirely. Something like:

-Remove Shattered Barrier entirely.
-Change the damage absorption into either some sort of dispel protection or interrupt/silence protection.
-Change CD/Duration accordingly (I'd like to see it stay on under a 45 sec CD, honestly)

You've now just removed a nova from the game (All melee classes are now happier (Or have less to QQ about)), while also giving us dispel protection or a way to hard-cast properly, but on a CD.

Boom. Frost Mages are now less gimped, and less OP against melee. Everyone wins.

EDIT: Also, one less shield that attackers have to hit through. Even LESS to QQ about, as our only remaining shields would be one that drains mana, and one that only works against specific spell schools.

Help me with my dps (round 2)

hello everyone. I am here once again to ask you to help me with my dps. i posted a similar thread a few days ago but it was at like 3 am and got buried decently quick. so here goes another shot at it.

here is a WoL parse of a night of attempts on chogall

And heres one of a conclave kill.
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-o0ji4xaxf0fxerh7/

please give whatever advice you deem fit. I know that i am not hit capped. I am working on getting stump of time to fix this.
What rotation do you use? And with 1 draenei in your raid you are pretty close to the cap anyway, so don't grief yourself too much over it.
draenei dont give a buff to other people anymore, and i use the standard rotations, but there was alot more scorches going out on cho than on other fights due to the adds and extra movement.
Spend some VP on t11 gloves, the two piece will be a solid improvement. Your crit also seems really low, not good for fire. Until you cap out, try eating the 90 hit food "Grilled Dragon"
Make sure you are using flame orb on cd, and try to get your guild to recruit a warlock :D Dark intent is insane.
Aside from that you have a fury warr for 5% crit and an ele sham for 10% spellpower and 5% haste, should be pulling some decent numbers.
Oh damn you're right, massive brainfart.
With regards to adds, are they being grouped up enough that you can flamestrike bomb scorch hardcast pyro and use impact?

Really helps.

Finally, work on that wildhammer and Baradins rep. get the tabard, do your daily heroic. soon adds up. AND ENCHANT THAT SECOND RING.
omg, i cant believe i forgot to enchant that ring. thanks

Victory loves preparation

Hi I've been invited for the first time for a raid run in Magmaw. My question is what flasks and food buffs should I bring in order to get the most out of my dps? And if anyone knows a specific mage guide for this encounter. Thanks for any help! :)
Stam/Int food and flask of draconic mind.

I'd also fix that hit rating... 221 below the raid hit cap of 1742 is a bit excessive.

Thanks for your help with some reforge and gemming Im now at 1757

Critical Mass noob question

Does Critical Mass apply raid wide?
For example if there are two fire mages in the raid, do each of them need to scorch so they get the 5% increase crit strike, or do just one of them need to do it?
The debuff is on the target, not on the mage. Every players attacking a target debuffed with Critical Mass will benefit from the 5% increased crit chance.
Makes sense. TY

Too much mana? Am I doing it wrong?

So, in questing from probably 82+, I have never, ever, ever run out of mana.

I mean I blow through every cooldown, use every spell, go all out on the suckers (in questing) through battle after battle after battle. I have to stop all the time due to health. but Mana? After my typical battle, I have 99% mana. It never drops below maybe 95%.

I suppose instances will be different where I can burn mana for longer fights without facing hp concerns.

Am I doing it wrong? Stacking too much int or something?

My rotation is very simple. Mainly FB. When Frostfire procs, I hit that. When ice lance or freeze procs, I hit one depending on the MOBs heatlh (if he's low, I IL him. Otherwise, freeze to prevent damage to my health). Doing that he's usually dead by or at the time he reaches me. I stay at over 95% mana the entire time.

Whats the deal? Back in early Wrath, BC or Vanilla I would burn 50-75% mana rolling 3 mobs like this.

If your mobs are dying in a quickly manner and you're not using a lot of mana, it's really not an issue. Are you using Mage Armor? That will constantly keep your mana full while questing.

Running dungeons as frost will require you to manage your mana.
